Joachim Brunotte studied physics in Heidelberg and Munich, and specialized in the fields of solid state physics, thermodynamics and meteorology. As a PhD student he worked on the use of renewable energy. His practical and technical experience from this time period range from computer programming via high vacuum technology, thin-film technology and measurement technology to developing an industrial production method.
Joachim was trained as patent attorney by law firms in Düsseldorf and Munich as well as the regional court in Düsseldorf. After passing his patent bar examination, he spent one year in London working in an English patent law firm. Joachim joined the firm Effert, Bressel und Kollegen in the year 2003.
He also focusses on patent opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office, the related Boards of Appeal, the German Patent and Trademark Office and the Federal Patent Court of Germany as well as prosecution and litigation of trademark and design rights.
